Palace of the Republic is one of the main known attractions of Almaty. There was a large reconstruction of the Palace in 2011 and Acoustic Group was asked to made acoustic project of the building. There were several issues in this project. The hall has complex shape with lots of music and lighting equipment. We must be sure that each guest would hear sound loud and clear.

We made acoustic measuring of the conference hall and foyer. Using this data, we created 3-D models to predict directions of sound waves and chose reflecting and absorbing zones of the surfaces. Than we choose optimal solutions for each zone. We placed reflecting elements to pass sound waves to the rear part of the hall. Walls were covered with sound absorbing panels to capture waves before it could go back to the seats and made echo effect. This complex of solutions allows us to get evenly distributed sound.
