Ice skating rink has big volume, so reverberation time is long. Long reverberation time causes echo effect and it’s hard to talk to anybody nearby. The problem is generated sound goes in all directions, reflects from surfaces and get you ears again and again. So you hear one sound several times and new sounds mix with old ones. The optimal solution is absorbing sound wave before it reflects.

We made acoustic measurement to assess reverberation time and choose optimal material and number of absorbing panels. We also isolated engineering equipment of the rink.

In the result Ice Arena became more comfortable and you can hear anybody around you loud and clear without echo effect.
