How to get rid of noise from upstairs neighbors?

20 March 2026

The clients complained about constant everyday noise from the floor above, including loud conversations, TV, and music.

Since the issue was only airborne noise, we improved the ceiling soundproofing using a framed construction. The room height allowed us to install a 10 cm thick system, which increased efficiency.

The frame was covered with the acoustic system ZIPS-Db.

ZIPS-Db consists of two layers of special, thin but heavy 8 mm gypsum boards for soundproofing, separated by a layer of elastic acoustic sealant. This triplex system significantly outperforms standard gypsum boards in sound insulation and, importantly, belongs to the category of low-flammability materials.

Finishing: drywall installed over ZIPS-Db.

Result: effective protection from airborne noise without significant loss of room height.
