What we did
To identify the cause, we analyzed three rooms: two adjacent rooms on the same floor and one room above. This allowed us to measure horizontal and vertical sound transmission and find leakage points.
Problems and solutions
- Ventilation duct transmitted sound.
We designed silencers and integrated them into the duct system. - Block walls were cut for electrical wiring.
These grooves are major sound leaks.
We restored the walls, replastered them, and reinforced them with a framed sound-insulating lining using ZIPS Db acoustic triplex. - Pipes above the entrance door were not properly sealed.
- Gaps around the door frame.
All gaps and joints were sealed to make the structures airtight.
Result
After fixing all defects, restoring the walls, and installing the silencers, the sound insulation performance was significantly improved.
